I'm currently working on finalizing two kid's guitar books for publication.  The material for these books were developed over the course of many years teaching guitar.

My books begin with one finger chords and easy rhythms.  By the end of book two, they know 16 open chords that require 3 or 4 fingers and many different rhythm strums.

I have had great success with this method.  Whereas students before would struggle mastering the coordination required, this structured plan has had students as young as 1st grade learning chords and building confidence.
